Flat Refurbishment

A first-floor mansion block flat in Hammersmith, largely untouched since the 1980s and with plumbing to match.

The flat was rewired and replumbed throughout, the tired bathroom was replaced with a fully tanked wet room in marble-effect porcelain, and a new en-suite was carved out of an oversized principal bedroom. Original cornice and joinery were protected, repaired and repainted rather than ripped out.

Working in a mansion block means working to the building's rules: materials came up in the service lift on booked slots, wet trades were scheduled around the downstairs neighbours, and communal areas were sheeted every single day.
