Interior Refurbishment

A Fulham terrace bought at auction: structurally sound, cosmetically finished, and carpeted throughout in something nobody wanted to keep.

We stripped the ground floor back, levelled a badly patched subfloor and laid engineered oak in herringbone, set out from the centre line of the hallway so the pattern runs true through every doorway. Walls were replastered, the staircase was rebuilt where it had been cut about, and every room was redecorated.

The flooring alone took three weeks — most of that was letting the screed dry and the boards acclimatise before a single plank was fixed. That patience is why the floor is still flat and silent two years on.
